Hurdcott Saddlery came out on a cold September 05 morning to measure up my18yr old ex racehorse who has high withers, big shoulders and a slight roach back!  I thought it would be quite a challenge for them as I had been trying on all different saddles on him for two weeks but was never quite happy with any of them. Probably because I was trying narrow width saddles on him, which was what his previous owner said he was!!  How wrong was I??

Clare's advice was a surprise.  Major was a medium width fit, (thats why none of those narrow widths fitted, Doh!..) Thank god I sought help from Hurdcott Saddlery!

Major was fitted with a new Thorowgood Saddle with cut back shoulders and wither with the fish inserts which (I now know) are to maintain a perfect fit throughout seasonal changes in Majors condition!  What a great invention! We both love the comfort  of it.
